Jesus Blessing the Children

Jesus Blessing the Children is one of the many celebrated events in the public ministry of Christ. It was a Jewish custom to bring children to a rabbi to be blessed. The Gospel of St. Mark states that "they were bringing the children to him that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant, and said to them, 'Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for such is the kingdom of God.'"
