"He Is Risen Indeed, Alleluia!"
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the first Easter morning is the cornerstone of Christianity. The four gospels give slightly varied accounts of the circumstances surrounding the Resurrection and the events leading upto it, but they all indicate the arrival of the women at the tomb, only to find it empty. In the gospel of Saint Luke, an angel says to the women, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen."

The events of Christ's Passion, Death and Resurrection, as portrayed in the gospels, are richly represented in the stained glass of most Christian churches. The individual events, with the exception of the Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, are embodied in the 5 Sorrowful Mysteries and the first Glorious Mystery of the Rosary, the 14 Stations of the Cross, and the fifth of the newly instituted Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary. The chronology is given below.

The Institution of the Eucharist (The Last Supper) - 5th Luminous Mystery
The Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane - 1st Sorrowful Mystery
Jesus is Condemned to Death by Pilate - 1st Station of the Cross
