Christ the High Priest
Located above the altar and facing south, this 3-panel window is punctuated by various Christian icons in the upper sections of each panel. The symbols for the Four Evangelists are pictured on either side of Christ: St. Matthew above St. Mark on the left, and St. Luke above St. John on the right.

Above and below: detail cutouts of The Four Evangelists, here with Sts. Matthew and Mark above and Sts. Luke and John below. Placing the cursor anywhere on the image and clicking the plus sign in the lower right corner yields a higher magnification.

The Brick Gothic structure was built in 1938. Pawling is a small, rural town in eastern Dutchess County. The church is in the middle of a quiet residential neighborhood.
The church has six 2-panel windows, three on each side. With the exception of Jesus Blessing the Children, each of them depicts two separate but related scenes.

The remaining images on this page, with the exception of the red cross on the entrance door, are detail cutouts from several of the windows pictured above. They may be viewed in the center of the screen, and in most cases at higher magnification, by placing the cursor anywhere on the image and clicking the plus sign in the lower right corner.
