St. Joseph Church, Danbury, CT
The stained glass windows of this 1905 church appear in thematically connected groups on the north, west and south walls. A magnificent rose window, on the east wall of the church, dominates the facade directly above the triple arched entrance.
On the west wall, above the altar, seven windows form a semicircle. They are six feet in height. In the center is Christ the High Priest.

The other six windows depict prominent saints, and are presented here in pairs. Two of the evangelists and St. Peter stand to the left of Christ while St. Patrick and the other two evangelists are to his right.

St. Cecelia, the patron of music, is seated at the organ in the center of the Rose Window. Some of the twelve cherubic figures surrounding her are rotated at unusual angles. The window is twelve feet in diameter.

The Rose Window
On the north and south (side) walls of the church, twelve events from the lives of Christ and The Blessed Mother are depicted. They are presented here with their upper arch and lower dedication panels cropped away. All of the arches and dedications are identical. The Ascension window appears again at the bottom left of this page, complete with arch and dedication. Each full side window is eleven feet tall.

The photographs of the interior and exterior of the church reveal a combination of styles, with the upper arch playing a predominant role.
